Wow, how did it get to be September already? It’s starting to feel like fall, ever so slightly. The changes that happen this time of year are awesome. The days get slightly cooler and the nights are simply lovely for sleeping. Everything is still bright and green though, but the grass has slowed in its growing which is very nice as I really don’t feel like mowing it too many more times this year. The night sky, though always beautiful, seems to have more character this time of year. The clouds roll across it, palely refelecting the moonlight into soft silver along their edges. *sigh*
Last night we got hit with the aftermath of Ike as it reached lake Erie. High winds took out a few trees near us and knocked out the power for a couple hours. It sucked because we were watching the game but since the Steelers won anyway it’s all good. One of the roads has been partially blocked all day because they’ve been cleaning the trees and phone poles out of the way. Apparently those things are obstacles when they are lying in the road. And live wires aren’t the safest thing either. Go figure.
School started at the beginning of this month, so work has picked up a little. There is so much to get done that there don’t seem to be enough work hours in the day. It’s fun though, and I’ve learned a lot. Mainly how to not freak out when there are a bazillion things to get done. Well, I haven’t really learned not to freak out, but I’ve learned that it doesn’t help. At all.
I’ve gotten hooked on the Twilight series the last couple of weeks. It’s consumed a lot of my time. They are very well written, very intriguing novels, and I highly recommend them. Stephenie Meyer is a genius.
And that’s all I have to say, for now. Except to say that I am very happy with McCain’s choice in Sarah Palin.
