Raising Cain

I’ve been thinking (a dangerous past time I know) about how we’d like to know what was going on, and posess a clearly defined list of directions on how to handle life. And while God has given us His Holy Word, He did not deem it necessary to tell us the specifics of each of our lives and what His individual plans are for every one of us. But as I was pondering this, I came to the realization that, no I really wouldn’t want those directions. I don’t want to see the events of my life as a checklist that I can cross out when I am done. Because what would happen when I reached the end of the list? Assured death? I’ve finished my chores I can go play now? As hard as it may be not to know the future I shall remain content in the knowledge that my Father knows, understands, directs, and enables my existence. And somehow I don’t think He views my life as a check list either.
